The Kowhai Programme has been created to provide education for those people who are caring for their loved ones who are on the Otago Community Hospice Programme.
The Kowhai Programme has traditionally been delivered via face-to-face sessions in Dunedin. In 2020 we were very excited to begin delivery of the Kowhai Programme in Wanaka, Alexandra, Cromwell, Oamaru and South Otago. Now, in 2021, we will continue to offer the Kowhai programme throughout the year in both Dunedin and our regions.
But we also recognise that the need for the Kowhai Programme is ongoing and may still not be accessible to all due to time or distance. We have created this website to ensure those who can't attend our sessions, or those who need reminders, can access all the resources on offer at all times.
For those people who are able to attend the Kowhai Programme sessions, it provides an opportunity to connect with others who are sharing similar experiences as well as gaining support and information. We encourage people to attend all the topics provided, however, you are very welcome to attend any of the sessions that look useful to you at any time.
For Dunedin, North Otago and South Otago queries contact Kowhai Programme Coordinator Denise van Aalst ph: (03) 473 6005 or 0800 473 6005 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
For Central Otago queries contact our Central Otago Kowhai Facilitator Christine Pacey ph: (03) 445 0056 or email email@example.com
Plans are now in place for the Kowhai Programme to safely continue to operate in Alert Levels 1 and 2. Should we move to Alert Level 3 or 4 the programme will be placed on hold.
**All sessions are held once a week from 12 noon to 2.30pm
