It was another bumper month for fundraising during July with a huge grant and some generous and innovative fundraising events.

Last month we were notified that we had been successful in securing a massive grant from Central Lakes Trust. The biggest ever. The funds are for general operating costs and for some new in reach work with Dunstan Hospital and other providers.

We also had a great response to our request for funding for a new IPU mattress and landing mat to go with the new bed funded by 100+ People Who Care last month. The Stateside Streeters swooped in within a couple of hours with an offer to cover everything.

Staff and Volunteer Car Cruise — Image by: Kelly Meade

The Stateside Streeters have been big supporters of ours in the past, including taking our staff, volunteers and family members on a annual car cruise around Dunedin. This photo is from last year's event. We are really grateful for their ongoing support.

Another corporate supporter, Gallery De Novo, ran a unique art and plant raffle this month, with the proceeds split between Hospice and two other charities. The miniature original artworks were paired with jade plants taken from the gallery's resident plant, and the raffle raised over $800 for us. Kelly Meade was one of the lucky winners. A big thank you to everyone who took part.

Preparations for all our summer partner events are well underway with donations for raffle and auction prizes coming from all sides. The first event will be the BNI Bingo Bonanza on Wednesday 10 September, so please come along and support for your chance to win.
