Cancellation of Volunteers

We are now only cancelling volunteers if there are no patients in the IPU.  This is so we can support the nursing team to do what they do, either in the IPU with patients, or in the community with the patients (see the article on the extended service).  

Many of the tasks the nurses do takes two people (personal cares, medication etc...).  As well as taking calls from the community.  Each call may take between 20mins and an hour, by the time they look up the patient, see what is required, make follow-up phone calls and document the process.  So while it seems quiet at the reception desk the nurses maybe be very busy.
